I Know My Redeemer Liveth, Job 19:23-25
To redeem means to ransom, to
vindicate someone; we know we have a redeemer.
To make it more personal, I know my Redeemer liveth
and it is forever settled in my heart.
The enemy will try to take all your faith and take away everything that
you think you know, so be sure of what you know.
Ps. 44:22-26,
“Yea, for thy sake we are killed . . . Arise for our help, and redeem us for
thy mercies sake.”
No matter where you are today,
you do have a redeemer. No matter how
low you are, know you have a Redeemer that lives. Even
through Job’s many trials, he knew beyond a doubt that He lives. And, that was
his hope.
“I can be glad for my hope is
in the Lord.”
Small Things
Zech 4:8-10
“Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his
hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that
the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto you.
For who hath despised the day of small things?
In this day of fast food we
have a ‘super size’ attitude. Is bigger always
better?
We should never think that
small things are not powerful. Actually,
small things can be deadly. For example,. viruses, a poisonous spider, or
an atom in a bomb. Israel had been taken captive. For 16 years, the temple was incomplete. Some captives were allowed to return to
Israel to rebuild and complete the work. The next temple would not be as
glorious. To the Church: Satan would like us to believe we are not
capable or useful.
Rejoice in what God has allowed you to
do. He has a plan and special purpose of
each of us. What has He put in your
hand? Just use what He gave you. That is what you are responsible for. Just as
in the parable of the talents, Matt 25, we will each be accountable for what we
have been given.
You are important in the work
of the Kingdom. What we give back to
God, He will multiply just as the little boy’s loaves and fishes that fed the 5
thousand.
So, despise not the small
things. Rejoice!
We Are the Church Matt.
16:18
The church is God's extended
arm in the world. Is the church perfect? No, because you and I are in it! We
are not perfect and neither is the church since it is made up of imperfect
people. We are not called to be perfect but we do, as a body of believers, have
specific responsibilities.
What are the responsibilities of the church?
1. To teach truth: Acts. 11:26
Everyone should be involved in teaching others,
often this is in actions and deeds. Mark
4:14, the sower soweth
the Word
2. To teach worship and prayer: in Acts
14:27, the early church rehearsed
3. To show the wisdom of God: Eph.
3:10-11
4. To provide fellowship: Acts 2:42,
Heb. 10:23 we are to hold fast. Encouraging others is the duty of the
church.
We are called to be examples for the Kingdom. What a responsibility but what a
privilege!
